Jewellery
My work encompasses a diverse range of styles and materials, all made at the kitchen table! One of my key styles revolves around repurposing electrical resistors, transforming them into quirky and unconventional jewellery pieces. Another facet of my work involves artisan-created recycled glass beads. Sourced from the talented craftspeople of Krobo in Ghana, these beads carry with them the rich cultural heritage and traditions of the region. Each bead is meticulously crafted and hand-painted, resulting in stunning and vibrant pieces that celebrate the beauty of African artistry. Brightly coloured African fabrics play the lead role in another of my ranges. Using photographs I’ve taken of African fabrics I create lightweight drop earrings in various geometric shapes and in the shape of the African continent. These pieces allow wearers to make a bold and expressive statement, embracing their individuality and celebrating African culture. My collection also includes glittery resin jewellery, offering a touch of playfulness and sparkle to the wearers outfit. I aim to create colourful and unique jewellery that not only captivates the eye but, in the case of the repurposed electrical components and recycled beads, also resonates with environmentally conscious consumers.
