Jane Bain creates vibrant prints which are inspired by all around her; flowers and birds from her garden, her pottery collection and the shapes and colours of fruit and vegetables.
When working on a group of prints Jane focuses on the graphic elements, searching out the characters treating the images as if they were a portrait.
All of Jane’s prints are created from an original hand drawn, working drawing. She then breaks up the drawing into artwork layers before transferring these images onto her screens and printing. She plays with size, translucent layering, and paints directly onto the screen to gain additional texture.
