Laura Parker
Painting
Laura Parker is a self-taught artist and painter based in the London area. Her background is in History of Art and Architecture. Laura is inspired by the natural world, with water being an important impetus to her work.
Laura works predominantly in acrylics, while also exploring the use of other materials, and her love of colour adds drama, and brings energy and vitality to her artworks.
Laura says “For me, making art is exciting, scary, frustrating, addictive, rewarding, and an utterly indispensable part of my life.”
Laura is a member of ArtCan and Richmond Art Society. She is represented by BobCat Gallery in London.
Laura exhibits regularly. In 2023 she participated in numerous group exhibitions, including the Winter Show at Orleans House Gallery, ‘Home’ and ‘Then & Now’ with ArtCan, ‘Pushing Paper’ and ‘100x100’ with BobCat Gallery, Richmond Art Society’s Winter and Summer Exhibitions, ‘Heat’ at RuptureXIBIT, and ‘RA Rejects’ with Art Friend. She has a number of exhibitions planned for 2024, including ‘100x100’ and ‘Wunderkammer ‘ with BobCat Gallery.
Estila recently published an article online featuring Laura’s background and art practice. She has also been featured in Art Seen Magazine, while Diver Magazine and Collect Art’s Special Edition ‘Sea in Me’ featured her art practice and underwater paintings.
