Zoe Navarre
Painting
Zoë Navarre is an abstract figurative artist working between London and in her studio in the foothills of the French Pyrenees.
Born in London, Zoë studied Fine Arts after moving to Australia in 2002, living and working on the North coast of New South Wales. She studied under the guidance of her mentor, Terri Butterworth, the award-winning Australian abstract artist. In 2016 Zoë returned to London where she furthered her studies at Heatherley’s School of Art and The Slade.
Predominantly working in gouache and oils, Zoë’s brightly-coloured abstract paintings are based on the shapes of the branches of trees, leaf litter, and the large-scale movements of the land itself.
Her work, in which she documents both existing and felled trees, seeks to explore the sense of connection felt with the natural world, the vulnerable and yet enduring connection humans have with nature and ultimately the oneness that underpins all existence.
